MASTER OF ARTS (HISTORY)
This Department was established in 1952. The mission of the Department of Dept. of history started the course master of arts in history in 2009. During the academic session 2009-10, 2010-2011, 2011-2012, 2012-2013 it continuously getting good position in P.U. examination. Here to for student of this department Amandeep Kaur topped in P.U. examination up to 3rd semester. In spite of that it nascent department, it organised two day U.G.C. sponsored national seminar on the topic ‘communal problem in the Punjab 1932-47’ on dated 02-03 March 2012. U.G.C. also sanctioned a minor research project entitled ‘Role of Muslim Women in Punjab Politics’. Our teachers provided such a good study material from various libraries namely P.U. extension Library. P.U. Library G.N.D.U.  Library, book from world book fair etc. So that students of large number enrolled in the PG and UG level.

 Eligibility a) Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in any subject or Bachelor of Social Sciences(HonoursSchool).
b) Bachelor of Arts in any subject with at least 50% mark (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate.
c) Bachelor of Arts in any subject at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in the subject of History/Sociology/Public Administration.
d) Any other examination recognized equivalent thereto.
